About Our Seal

Official Seal of The Descendants of Mexican War Veterans

The official seal or emblem of the Descendants of Mexican War Veterans (left) was designed by the society's founder. It consists of concentric circles bearing the name of the organization and year of founding (1989). The two stars represent Generals Zachary Taylor and Winfield Scott. The interior of the seal includes the starting and ending dates of the war (1846-1848) and the seal or badge of the National Assn. of Veterans of the Mexican War (designed in 1876), to which the DMWV considers itself the heir in spirit.
